 Junior Golf Program

Winagamie Golf Course has sponsored junior instructional programs since 1971. Thousands of youngsters over the years have learned basic golf skills and an appreciation for the game of golf.

In 1999, owner and LPGA golf professional, Mary Beth Nienhaus, took on a major project that greatly increased the instructional program for youngsters and added a 9-hole course for kids! (Highlands)

In 2002, the Winagamie Golf Foundation, a not for profit foundation was founded. The mission of the foundation is to provide all youth with the opportunity to learn and play golf and embrace the core values associated with everyday life.

Mary Beth Nienhaus, who has been involved in teaching youth for over thirty years, is the founder. Mary Beth has always had a vision to teach golf along with life skills. Establishing the Winagamie Golf Foundation will always allow children to engage in wholesome activities that will surely impact their lives continually in many ways.

Last year 3000 students participated in the instructional program.

Many schools from Appleton, Neenah, Menasha, and Oshkosh have had their field trips to our facility in the spring and fall. We are able to accommodate groups up to eighty students.

Groups from Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boys and Girls Club,  YMCA of the Fox Cities, City of Menasha Parks and Recreation, and Town of Menasha have been to our facility.

In 2004 another course was added to the Junior Facility. The TWIGS is designed for the very young, beginner golfer. The holes range in length from 30-100 yards. This golf course is a great teaching venue for youngsters and families.

Our junior instructional program this year offers over 40 classes to meet the needs of beginner, intermediate and advanced golfer from ages 4-14. Four leagues were formed over the summer with over 150 participants. Various tournaments and events are also scheduled on the Highlands course.
